Due to other commitments I no longer am able to maintain this blog. If another dragonfly enthusiast in Cambridgeshire is willing to take it on please contact the British Dragonfly Society for details.
Welcome to
Cambridgeshire Dragonfly Group! Start of second full year!
It is the intention that the group will be of interest to people of all levels of knowledge, but with a particular emphasis on beginners. If the group can generate interest in this specialised and fascinating field of natural history, I feel it will be doing a good job.
I would like anybody to post anything of interest relating to Dragonflies and Damselflies in Cambridgeshire (MEMBERSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED). If you are an expert and wish to submit any kind of article, even if published elsewhere, it would be very gratefully received. If you are a beginner and wish to submit an article on any aspect of your learning experience, please send it in, and I will look at it. I can't promise to include everything but give it a try! You can be assured that I will not publish any personal details without your permission, and you may post anonymously if you wish. If you don't know what it is you've seen, but you managed to get a picture, send it in and if possible it will be identified for you.
The Species page will have photos added to it as they become available, and in the interest of quality will be replaced with any that are an improvement. This will almost certainly mean I loose a lot mine!
I will devote as much time as possible to improving the site as I can. What I will promise to do is post Latest Reports as they come in, unless I'm not able to reach a computer or am ill. I will eventually make provision for this last situation.
Good hunting - Max
